She will also discuss collaboration for the success of the World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings which will be held in Japan in October this year.

“Japan is the second largest shareholder of the World Bank Group and one of the most important development partners in the region.  I am delighted to visit Tokyo at the earliest opportunity in my new role to appreciate our strong relationship and cooperation,†said Pamela Cox. “I look forward to sharing ideas with our Japanese counterparts on how we can further enhance our engagement in the region on many pressing development challenges.â€

In Tokyo, Ms. Cox will also launch a new World Bank guidebook “Cities and Flooding: A Guide to Integrated Urban Flood Risk Management for the 21st Centuryâ€, produced with the financial support of the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and in cooperation with partners including the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
