Mobilizing Rural Institutions: Lessons Learned for Rural Producer Organizations and Cooperatives

Description:
The workshop will present case studies from Vietnam, Yemen and Ethiopia on the role of rural institutions in natural resource management, commodities/production and governance. The objective is to draw policy relevant lessons on the performance of rural Institutions, with a special focus on cooperatives. Participants include specialists from Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance, the Federal Cooperative Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ethiopia Institute of Agricultural Research, Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam Center for Agricultural Policy, the Yemen Social Fund for Development, the International Labour Organization, International Cooperative Alliance, Plan International, Catholic Relief Services, ACDI/VOCA, in addition to World Bank Institute, IFPRI and World Bank TTLs.
