became a member of the World Bank and the International Development Association (IDA)  in 1968. As of March 2008 there were no active IBRD/IDA projects in Botswana. In past years, IBRD/IDA projects in Botswana have been predominantly in the following areas:

	Education
	Water supply
	Highway reconstruction
	Livestock management, and
	Urban development.
