Cameroon: Sustainable Agro-Pastoral and Land Management Promotion

WASHINGTON, June 6, 2006- The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:

 

GEF GRANT:  US$6 million

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will assist Cameroon in its efforts to enable communities to combat land degradation in critical areas within the North, Adamaoua, West and Center Provinces. This will be achieved through the adoption of sustainable land management (SLM) practices and the development of adequate capacity, tools, and mechanisms by communal and community-based organizations.
