The Public Information Center (PIC), located in the World Bank’s Resident Mission in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, was reopened on November 27, 2007 in order to respond to the ongoing need for public information on the World Bank’s activities.
Visitors The center is open to anyone seeking information on development and poverty reduction. The information available at the PIC is especially geared toward government officials, academicians, civil society representatives, students, journalists, economic operators, and all development partners. Access Procedures To gain access to the center, visitors are directed to a booth for clearance by security guards. Once this step has been completed, visitors carrying bags or document holders are required to leave them in a cubby hole, as directed by the security guard. These security procedures are intended to provide our visitors with free and completely undisturbed access. Days and Hours of Operation Days: Tuesday to Thursday Hours: 9:30 am - 12 pm and 3 pm - 5 pm Services To consult documents, visitors are required to submit a registration research card, either manually or electronically, indicating their research areas, so that guidance can be provided to them. All documents are consulted on site. The PIC also provides documents free of charge that visitors can take with them. Internet research: In view of the fact that the PIC has only four computers, the length of time spent on them is determined by the request. If more than four visitors wish to conduct Internet research, usage time is limited to one hour; otherwise, visitors may use computers for more than one hour.
