Comoros joined the World Bank in 1976. Since then, World Bank assistance on 19 projects has helped the country work towards achieving sustainable economic growth, developing human capital and reducing poverty.  As of August 2006, the commitment value of one ongoing operation is approximately US$13.3 million equivalent.
