| WASHINGTON, May 25, 2004—The following project was approved today by the World Bank’s Board:
CREDIT AMOUNT:Â US$100 million
TERMS: Grace period =10 years; Maturity = 40 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will fund the demobilization of an estimated 150,000 ex-combatants and help them return to civilian life. It will also promote the reallocation of government expenditure from the military to social and economic sectors. The program will cover the whole country and reintegration activities will be organized by province according to the settlement pattern of ex-combatants, and implementation capacities at the provincial and community levels.
