WASHINGTON, June 30, 2009 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:

 

Democratic Republic of Congo: Southern African Power Market Project

 

IDA Grant: US$180.62 million equivalent

Project ID: P105654

 

Project Description: The objective of the Southern African Power Market Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo is to develop an efficient regional power market in the Southern African Development Community to create conditions for accelerated investments in the power sector, increase competition and foster regional economic integration.
