The World Bank is helping to fight poverty and improve the living standards for the people of Eritrea. The World Bank has disbursed a total of US$484 million in currently active and closed projects to Eritrea. As of August 2008, the portfolio consisted of five active projects for a commitment of approximately US$179 million which impact the following areas: | | - transport
