WASHINGTON, March 30, 2010 - The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors today approved the following project:  IDA Grant: US$80 million equivalent Project ID: P118533  Project Description: The Water Supply and Sanitation Project for Ethiopia aims to increase access to sustainable water supply and sanitation services, for rural and urban users, through improved capacity of stakeholders in the sector and better management of water resources. Accordingly, the project is designed to build the capacity of all stakeholders, both public and private, to plan, construct and maintain water supply and sanitation facilities. In the process approximately 5500 rural water supply schemes and about 50 town water supplies will be improved in the first years.
