Overview

The Africa RPED is an ongoing research project with the overall purpose of generating business knowledge and policy advise useful to private sector manufacturing development in Sub-Saharan Africa. The program does this through its long-standing (over 10 years) of experience in firm-level data collection and case study analysis to provide policy advice to the World Bank, donor agencies, client governments and other interested parties seeking to improve the business environment in these countries. RPED activities have been of key relevance in:

orange bullet Understanding the reasons for Africa’s lack of growth
orange bullet Gathering systematic evidence regarding firm dynamics and the private sector
