| About Investment Climates: The World Bank Group has created an Investment Climate Unit (ICU) to standardize its approach for assessing country conditions through surveys and indicators. ICU has generated a standard core survey instrument for investment climate assessment, providing the basis to link investment climate conditions to firm-level productivity. Supplementary modules have been created to evaluate such issues as regulatory compliance costs, SME constraints and foreign investor concerns. The ICU is now working to develop a standard methodology for survey sample design. The ICU is also working to gather or generate standard indicators of the Investment Climate at a national level. |
