Reducing Maternal Mortality

Experience of the Iganga District in Uganda

Introduction

This toolkit demonstrates how rural communities in the Iganga District of Uganda used simple technology to forge a partnership between modern health practitioners and traditional healers, that led to a reported 50% decline in maternal mortality in three years.
