Sebastio Mangue, HOPE (NGO) (pdf)
Summary: The proposed activities include mainstreaming community based responses to HIV/AIDS management into HOPE’s work. This will involve adapting the lessons learnt from Tostan’s behavior change model, Sierra Leone’s rapid results approach to voluntary testing and counseling and THETA/TAWG’s use of traditional medicines to treat HIV/AIDS symptoms. HOPE will execute the strategy by working with local volunteers and people living with HIV/AIDS. These activities will also be incorporated into two youth programs: GATV and SAAJ.
