Process for Application

The submission of proposals to ACGF will be conducted on a rolling basis. All proposals are prepared by World Bank staff in consultation with government counterparts.  Applications are submitted by the World Bank Country Director of the respective applicant country, and provided to the ACGF Program Manager.

A Regional Advisory Committee comprised of World Bank Operations Directors provides advice to the Africa Regional Vice-President (RVP). The RVP makes the final decision on the projects to be included in the ACGF portfolio. This decision is then endorsed by the Bank-wide ACGF Steering Committee which is comprised of the vice-presidents of the following: Operations Policy & Country Services (OPCS), Concessional Finance and Global Partnerships (CFP), Development Economics (DEC), Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Network (PREM), International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Mulitlateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).

Approved proposals are prepared by the grant recipient (government or regional organization) with the help of the World Bank.
