World Bank Inspection Panel

The Inspection Panel is a three-member body created in 1993 to provide an independent forum to private citizens who believe that they or their interests have been, or could be, directly harmed by a project financed by the World Bank.  For more information, visit http://www.inspectionpanel.org

On March 22, 2001, the Inspection Panel received a request for inspection concerning the Chad Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project.

In September 2002, the Inspection Panel sent its report and recommendations to the Executive Board. The Board in turn approved the reccomendations in December 2002.

In September 2002, The Inspection Panel received a second requestion for inspeciton concerning activites on the project in Cameroon and the Petroleum Environment Capacity Enhancement Project, which is a capacity-building project linked to the pipeline project. The Inspection finalized its investigation in May 2003, and management responded the same month.
