WASHINGTON, March 27, 2006 - The following projects was approved today by the World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors:
IDA CREDIT: US$86 million
TERMS: Maturity = 40 years; Grace Period = 10 years
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The objective of the proposed project is to empower local communities of men and women to engage in wealth creating activities, lower the incidence of poverty and reduce the vulnerability of the poor to adverse outcomes associated with recurrent flooding.
