A steering committee composed of Mr. Erasmo Mabunda (ABIODE - Agricultura Biologica e Desenvolvimento Sustentavel), Mr. Luis Fortunato (ATAP - Associacao dos Tecnicos Agropeuarios), Mr. Abel Otacala (World Bank) and joined by Rafael Saute, as supervisors (Word Bank), deliberated and approved the following proposals to benefit for the FY08 Social Development Funds (six out of 69 proposals)

Among the selection criteria, here are the most important:
The proposals had to clearly outline the following:Â
Mission atatement of the applicant organization
Complete list of the applicant organization’s senior staff and board of directors;
Most recent annual financial statement listing income sources (audited if available);
Copy of the applicant organization’s registration status
Latest annual report.

Note: The Social Development Fund for this year was designed taking into consideration the overall theme of the CPS "Promoting Shared Growth through Empowering of Citizens and Institutions", which also guided the selection of the best proposals.

The World Bank in Mozambique calls for proposals for its Social Development Fund - FY08
Â
The World Bank in Mozambique launched on February 15, the Social Development Fund for the Fiscal Year 2008. The launching event was well attended and included a presentation of this year's theme,  guideline for applicants, and report of activities carried out during the last Fiscal Year. Among the presentations attached are those from a selected number of winners of last year's campaign, who shared their overall experience in working with the Bank's Social Development Fund, and presented their implementation reports. The Social Development Fund has been implemented each year since the year 2000 (please see disbursement report), and aims at fostering inclusiveness, participation of vulnerable and marginalized in community development initiatives.

The Social Development Fund (SDF) supports activities related to civic engagement that strengthen mechanisms for dialogue, inclusion, accountability, participation and that strengthen partnerships with public sector, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
