World Bank assistance to Rwanda is helping to fight poverty, improve the lives of the Rwandese and give hope for the future of the nation as a whole. 

Rwanda joined the World Bank in 1963. Since then, the country has been approved for 69 IDA credits and grants totaling approximately US$1.4 billion. As of March 2007, there were twelve ongoing operations with a commitment value of the about US$347 million and an undisbursed balance of roughly US$162 million.

Rwanda’s Bank-supported active project are in the following sectors:

  Agriculture, fishing, and forestry 
  Finance
  Health and other social services
  Industry and trade
  Information and communications
  Law and justice and public administration
  Transportation
  Water, sanitation and flood protection
