The country joined the World Bank Group as its newest member in Spring 2012, and is expected to have access to IDA financing following membership.

The Road to Development

Roughly the size of France, the landlocked country of South Sudan only has about 4,000 km of all weather roads which are classified as international and interstate roads. Funded by 14 donors and administered by the World Bank, the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for Southern Sudan (MTDF-SS) has been helping Southern Sudan address its development challenges for the past six years.
