World Bank Congratulates Sudan on the Success of the Currency Exchange

Process.

 

KHARTOUM, October 07, 2007— A strong stable currency is critical to job creation and poverty reduction - The new currency will improve the formulation and implementation of national monetary policy, restore normal local currency economic and commercial activity by reducing transaction costs, and importantly serve as a symbol for peace and unity by enhancing national economic integration and development – thus help to maintaining the integrity of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Read More...

Egypt Joins the Family of Sudan's MDTF Donors.

Khartoum- June 17, 2007 —Egypt signed today an Administration Agreement with the World Bank administered Multi Donors Trust Funds (MDTFs), thus becoming the first African and Arab donor to join Sudan’s MDTF family.  Egypt initiated its entry into the MDTF with a $1 million contribution to MDTF South. Inaguration of the World Bank Country Office in Khartoum

KHARTOUM - August, 9, 2006 — H.E. El-Zubair Ahmed El Hassan, Minister of Finance and National Economy and the World Bank Vice President for Africa Region, Mr. Gobind Nankani have officially inaugurated today the World Bank Country Office for Sudan. Khartoum, May 30, 2006 — TheGovernment of National Unity (GONU) and the World Bank organized a policy workshop and follow-up discussion on May 2 and May 11 respectively on enhancing the role of the private sector in national economic development.
