Health check-up for a child

Given the HIV/AIDS pandemic, many public sector workplaces in Uganda feel the burden of having to work with increasingly weak and disabled persons and fill in for fallen colleagues or those who are in the hospital or at home. Public service management must therefore establish regulations that take this reality into account. Changes in medical management so that HIV/AIDS and its opportunistic infections are included in workers’ medical insurance, reasonable accommodation so that a worker may be assigned to duties and hours that are suitable to his medical condition, and inclusion of members of the worker’s family into his medical insurance are some of the areas that need study. This course provided a platform through which public service administrators can share experiences and knowledge on addressing HIV/AIDS in the public sector.

To provide a platform through which public service administrators can share experiences and knowledge on addressing HIV/AIDS in the public sector.
