Uganda joined the World Bank in 1963, a year after obtaining independence. The World Bank’s lending program in Uganda is the sixth largest in Africa and is projected to grow if the country maintains its growth and development focus. The International Development Association provides direct budget support and commitments for infrastructure, education and social development.
