The Joint Development Information Centre (JDIC) is a combined World Bank and Africa Development Bank (AfDB) public information center, set to provide the Zambian public with a one stop access to information on development, to encourage knowledge sharing, dialogue and participation to development.
Officially opened on June 12, 2008 o the public, the JDIC provides current news and information on the World Bank and AfDB, current publications, reports, project documents and other development materials the two organizations produce. The Centre also provides a conducive environment to promote debates on current development topics. It is also open to the general public for both online and off-shelf research, reference, and development topical debate. The Centre also provides access to the World Bank’s E-Library and AfDB databases which are both electronic portal of full text collections of books, reports and other documents by both institutions. Currently the Centre has a collection of over 1,900 books and reports. A full catalog of these books and reports is available on-line. A visit to the Center can easily avail you access to a wealth of information of World Bank and AfDB publications and special books that are part of the JDIC diverse collection. The Centre also provides training to students on internet use and how to access various databases. It also facilities as a center for Increased Public Debate on development issues.
