BANGKOK -- The World Bank’s Human Development Network, in partnership with the Office of Basic Education Commission, the Royal Thai Government, organized a seminar on “Improving  Equity and Quality of Education in Thailand,” at the Royal Princess Hotel. This event was chaired by Khun Somkiat Chobpol, the Deputy Secretary-General of OBEC.

This seminar brought together more than 100 Thai education specialists and policy-makers to learn from international experience what can be done to improve the equity and the quality of education in Thailand.

During the seminar, World Bank Lead Education Economist, Harry Anthony Patrinos (far left), drew examples from  Jordan, the Netherlands, and Poland. Former South Korea's Deputy Minister of Education and Human Resources, Gwang-Jo Kim, who is now Director of UNESCO Bangkok and the Asia and Pacific Region, shared his country's experience with other participants.
