About the event:
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Ministry of National Education (MONE) will be signing Letters of Agreement for Grant Channeling at MONE with the second wave of 25 Basic Education Capacity Trust Fund (BEC-TF) partner districts on Monday, 23 November 2009. The signing marks BEC-TF’s commitment to work with a total of 50 local governments in 9 provinces to improve the way districts manage education finances and information systems.  In September 2009, the first wave of 25 local governments  signed the agreement.  The BEC-TF will run from 2008-2012 and is a partnership between the Ministry of National Education and the World Bank with funding from the Dutch Government (22 million Euro) and the European Commission (17 million Euro). 

About BEC-TF:
BEC-TF aims to support the Government of Indonesia in carrying out its education reform agenda, which includes: supporting an Education Thematic Dialogue Forum; improving governance, financial management, budgeting and accountability in the education sector; and strengthening the education information management system.
