Public Information Centers




World Bank Public Information Center's (PIC) is the focal point for providing access to a vast collection of World Bank publications, reports and other development-related materials. This is being done in support of the World Bank's policy of disclosure to be open about its activities and to explain its work to the widest possible audience.

PICs are open to the public. No fee is required to use the PIC. Users can access information through the Internet and thousands of World Bank publications and other development-related materials. Note: due to size constraints, users should contact the PIC to ensure proper access before visiting.

PIC services include:

  • online access to World Bank project documents, publications, and other development-related publications;
  • access to a special collection of CDs and videotapes on development;
  • access to development sites on the Internet;
  • online access to World Bank projects, documents and reports; and
  • an extensive cataloguing system (Global Jolis) that allows users to see the collection of around 60 World Bank PICs around the world.

A virtual catalog, ePIC offers specific titles or copies of World Bank publications may be viewed and downloaded online.

JOLIS Library Catalog
The principal online access catalog for the Library Network of the World Bank and IMF, JOLIS contains references to books, journals and newspapers, research papers, databases and web sites, with links to full-text when available.

Publications and Reports
World Bank publications and reports on East Asia and the Pacific available for download free of charge.

Project Documents
Information on World Bank projects such as brief summaries, environmental assessments, safeguards information, and appraisals, among others.

These are subscription services accessible for free in any of our PICs.

The World Bank e-Library is an online, fully cross-searchable portal of over 3,000 World Bank documents. Go to the neareast KDC in your area to access the e-Libray.

World Development Indicators Online
WDI Online is the World Bank's premier annual compilation of data about development. It includes information about People, Environment, Economy, and States and Markets.
Global Development Finance Online
GDF Online offers external debt and financial flow data for 136 countries. The indicators include external debt stocks and flows, major economic aggregates, and key debt ratios as well as average terms of new commitments, currency composition of long-term debt, debt restructurings, and scheduled debt service projections.
Global Economic Monitor
GEM is an online subscription service, updated each business day. It provides analysis of current economic trends, economic, financial and commodity data indicators, an extensive database including growth and commodity forecasts and access to the iSimulate modeling platform.
How to Order

You may purchase World Bank publications through authorized booksellers or through the on-line bookstore. Regional discounts apply for developing countries but please note that prices and credit terms vary from country to country.
