PHNOM PENH, December 2008 — The Second Cambodia Development Cooperation Forum (CDCF) was held on Thursday and Friday, December 4 and 5, 2008, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was held at the Council for the Development of Cambodia Building, Government Palace, Sisowath Quay in Phnom Penh. Government, development partners, civil society and private sector representatives attended.
The CDCF is held every 18 months by Government and its development partners in Cambodia. It is designed to discuss a range of development issues and challenges in Cambodia, and assess financing needs for future development programs. The CDCF is supplemented by aid coordination work ongoing throughout the year, through a number of Technical Working Groups that cover different aspects of development and quarterly coordination meetings that assessing progress made and identify emerging challenges.
The meeting began with Welcome Remarks by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Keat Chhon, Chairman of the Meeting and Remarks by Mr Qimiao Fan , Country Manager for Cambodia, World Bank, and followed by a Keynote address by H.E. Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia
Over the two days of the meeting Government and development partners gave presentations and had substantive discussions on critical strategic areas and issues, including:

At the end of the meeting the development partners' indicative financing for the coming three years was presented. For 2009 the development partners' indicative commitments for financing implementation of the National Strategic Development Plan and achievement of the Cambodian Millennium Development Goals totalled US$951.50 million.
