The World Bank Institute (WBI) was created to help share the World Bank's expertise and that of its member countries with policymakers and decisionmakers throughout the developing world. As the learning arm of the World Bank, WBI designs and delivers courses and seminars aimed at reducing poverty and promoting economic opportunity and growth. WBI technology initiatives like the Global Development Learning Network link training centers around the world and promote the exchange of cutting-edge information. The Institute also trains World Bank staff and clients together, allowing the two groups to exchange information and experience.
