What is the Mongolia DM 2007?


The Mongolia Development Marketplace (DM) 2007 is a competitive grant program of the World Bank that funds creative, small-scale development projects, which deliver results and have the potential to be expanded or replicated.

Mongolia DM award size: US$5,000 – 10,000 per project.

Partnerships: The project must contribute towards building and strengthening partnerships with private and public sector. In addition to the grant (or requested funding) co-financing or any other contribution through partnership is highly welcomed.

Key Beneficiaries:

Selection Criteria:

  • Innovativeness: The project must present non-conventional and/or creative approaches to addressing delivery of basic social services to the poor.
     
  • Impact/result on poor and vulnerable groups: The project should be able to demonstrate tangible benefits for the intended beneficiaries within 12 months.
     
  • Cost effectiveness and realism: The project should propose effective ways to use the funding, and its proposed benefits should be commensurate to the size the grant being requested.
     
  • Sustainability and scale up potential: The proposal should show how a project can continue to operate and yield benefits beyond the period of the grant awarded.
     
  • Replicability: It must be possible for other organizations to implement the project idea in other places with similar conditions.
