Some environmental problems span administrative boundaries and are felt regionally and globally, e.g. ozone layer depletion, loss of biodiversity, and climate change.
Population growth, industrialization and globalization are tending to intensify these global or trans-boundary environmental problems and their impacts on the East Asia and Pacific region. In response, the World Bank is helping its countries in the region address many of them.
Our assistance focuses on (but is not limited to) the following transboundary environmental challenges:Â
Transboundary Ecosystem and Shared Water Resource Management
 Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation
 Biodiversity Conservation
 Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS)
 Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Â
