Most of the East Asia and Pacific region's data and statistics for labor and social protection are generated from the following internal and external sources. While we hope you might find the external links below useful, please note the World Bank is not responsible for the content of these websites.

World Bank Sources

Development Data Platform (DDP). This database is a web resource for retrieving and reporting development-related data. It can prepare reports, charts and maps. DDP provides features that allow customization and management of data. The database includes both time series (macro) and survey (micro) data on a wide range of topics. The data source below was customized to generate 43 selected labor and social protection indicators.

For other topics, key indicators from the World Development Indicators database and links to additional online data sources are provided.

PovertyNet.  The Data and Tools section of PovertyNet provides information on recent trends in poverty indicators and links to sources of data on poverty. The data contained are particularly useful for poverty analysis, poverty monitoring, and impact evaluation.

World Development Indicators - Data Query. This database offers free access to a segment of the World Development Indicators database, an extensive collection of data about development. This segment includes 54 timeseries indicators for 208 countries and 18 groups, spanning the latest 5 years available. You can choose several ways of displaying the data: index, percentage change, and graphs, and can export the result in standard formats. You can find data regarding income distribution, age dependency ratio, unemployment, labor force, literacy rates, poverty, population growth, and more.

External Sources

Millenium Indicators Database.  This website shows the latest available data as of April 2005. The data is set against a framework of 8 goals, 18 targets and 48 indicators to measure progress towards the Millennium Development goals. These goals, targets and indicators were adopted by a consensus of experts from the United Nations Secretariat, IMF, OECD and the World Bank.

International Labor Organization - Statistics. This page provides access to a selection of labor-related statistics on topics of interest such as employment, wages, food prices, and others.  It offers links to global and regional databases as well as links to sources and methods for labor statistics in various countries. Additional links to external websites with relevant labor statistics are also available.
