Welcome to the World Bank's Social Development website for the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region.

The EAP region is experiencing rapid growth and a range of social development challenges that affect the quality of people's life and the quality of growth. Specifically, countries in East Asia face challenges in the areas of governance, peace and stability and socio-economic inequities. By providing financial, analytical, and advisory services, the World Bank is working with client countries and development partners to address social development priorities which support sustainable development in the region.
