Photo Exhibition on Biodiversity Hotspots

October 17, 2005 -- Hotspots are the richest and most threatened reservoirs of plant and animal life on the earth. What can we individually do to contribute to their preservation? What are the potential policy options available? These are the main messages of the Photo Exhibition on Biodiversity Hotspots, jointly organized by Conservation International Japan and the World Bank's Public Information Center in Tokyo, which started today. More than fifteen photos are featured, displaying different kinds of animal and plants, including those living in Japan. Japan has been added to the revised list of 34 hotspots recently. The original list of 25 hotspots was prepared by Conservation International, an international NGO focusing on global environment and biodiversity. The photo exhibit will continue until November 4, 2005.
