October 23, 2008, Tokyo - With rapid progress in ICT, significant efficiency and convenience gains have been realized throughout society, but how are we to deal with the negative aspects of information security (or lack of it)? The Internet has fostered an unprecedented knowledge-based culture of freedom and growth, but without solutions to the growing problems, a free ICT culture will not be able to flourish. This seminar hopes to encourage the very necessary global and regional efforts and sharing of successful models in ICT that cope with these problems. The second session in a series of seminars was held today at the World Bank Tokyo Office, building on shared wisdom by discussing the kind of ICT framework that will be necessary to build in the future.
