The Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF) was established by the Government of Japan and the World Bank in June 2000. Over the past 11 years, the JSDF has provided support for innovative programs aimed directly at the poorest and most vulnerable in society. By supporting piloting of new approaches to community engagement, JSDF projects have brought insights that have routinely have scaled up through IDA projects, government policy, other donors, and the work of our NGO/CSO partners. The JSDF has provided over $500 million in grants to support some 300 social development programs and projects.
Taking the opportunity of the visit by staff of the World Bank’s Global Partnerships and Trust Fund Operations (CFPTO) Department, the World Bank Tokyo Office would like to invite you for a public seminar titled "Japan Social Development Fund (JSDF): Achievements and Opportunities", which features presentations and invites participants to an interactive discussion on many successes of this program, and the many lessons that have emerged.
