NT2 Technical Workshop in Washington, DC1

This technical workshop in Washington, DC is part of a series of stakeholder workshops on the proposed Nam Theun 2 Hydroelectric Power Project. The workshops are being conducted in different cities in August and September. The goal of the workshop is to ensure that the proposed project’s objectives, potential benefits, and impacts are transparent, debated, and well-understood -- not only within Lao PDR, but also more broadly throughout the international stakeholder community.

The workshops are intended to provide information about the proposed project and to provide a forum for those interested in the project to share their concerns and views, with the aim of providing feedback to the government of Laos and the Nam Theun 2 Power Company (NTPC) as they finalize the safeguards documents for the proposed project.
