The World Bank office in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia is now accepting applications for the position of PROJECT COORDINATOR, GOVERNANCE PARTNERSHIP FACILITY based in Ulaanbaatar.
The World Bank has received a grant from the Governance Partnership Facility (GPF) to implement a series of projects aimed at improving the quality of governance and service delivery in Mongolia. The primary focus of the activities is to support policy outreach and the demand side of Governance.
The World Bank is seeking the services of a Project Coordinator to work within the World Bank Mongolia Country Office who will oversee the day to day activities and operations of the project.
The project comprises 3 main components:
- Establishment of an Independent Policy "think tank", to extend policy analysis and debate to the public and key stakeholders on mining and related economic policy issues.
- Public outreach, awareness campaigns, and policy forums on key mining and related economic policy decisions, with a focus on Government and development partner supported reform programs.
- Targeted capacity building activities to strengthen the ability of Parliament, media and civil society to obtain and make use of mining and economic policy analysis in policy debate, and for NGOs to carry out citizen oversight and monitoring activities on policy implementation, budget implementation and other areas.
The Project Coordinator will coordinate all of the project activities and be responsible for the financial management of the Project. The Coordinator will support implementation of each GPF project component, provide overall management and oversight of the project, ensuring timely delivery of project components, ensuring that payments are made against invoices and deliverables in accordance with any contracts, and managing project reporting requirements.
Qualifications and experience required:
An advanced degree in economics, development studies, political science, public policy, journalism or other relevant field.
Experience is required in one or more of the following fields: Governance, Public Financial Management, Service delivery, Anticorruption, NGO advocacy, mining policy. The candidate should have a good sense of role of civil society organizations in development. Familiarity with mining and economic policy issues and outreach is desirable.
Type of Appointment and how to apply:
