The Papua New Guinea Population and Family Planning Project had a satisfactory outcome and the performance of the World Bank and the borrower was rated satisfactory. However, the project's sustainability is unlikely and the institutional development was modest. The project evaluation concludes that indicators in the design of a project to help assess progress at all levels. The Petroleum Exploration Technical Assistance Project and the Petroleum Exploration and Development Technical Assistance Project Project Performance Assessment Report June 20, 2002
The assessment report concludes that the petroleum project had a satisfactory overall outcome, but its sustainability has been demonstrated as highly likely and its institutional development impact was modest. Country Assistance Evaluation Operations Evaluation Study March 6, 2000
The report reviews Papua New Guinea's economic, and social development in the 1990s, and provides a country assistance evaluation on the World Bank's contribution to development. Although the Bank helped restore stability in the short-term, it was unable to help improve fiscal management. A number of positive steps were taken to improve the non-mineral sector, but a hesitant progress hindered improvements in non-mineral production. More More information:
