In preparation for the next Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for the Philippines, a series of consultations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao are underway to facilitate a meaningful exchange of views with Government and various stakeholders on the critical development challenges as well as policy options and programs that would address these challenges.

A broadsheet ran a story citing an unnamed source saying that funds for Mindanao provided by development partners, including the World Bank, may have been misused. “There is no basis for the suspicion of the unnamed source in the article,” clarifies World Bank Country Director Bert Hofman.

FOCUS - Poverty Reduction Through Conditional Cash Transfers (CCTs)

The World Bank has provided technical support to numerous countries in developing and implementing Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programs throughout the world—from Latin America to New York City, and from Africa to Asia.
