Many NGOs today work under exceptionally difficult circumstances, delivering worthy results through important projects. However, all too frequently, the best new ideas cannot be implemented through lack of targeted financial support or human resources, while superb business models (because that is often what they are) are never replicated elsewhere for the very same reasons.
The World Bank and INSEAD are launching an initiative to bring together three key groups of people to answer a fundamental question - “Creating sustainable, replicable, scalable projects – can it be done?”
Date: Monday, 10th November 2008
Time: 8.30 am – 5.00pm
Venue: INSEAD Asia Campus, 1 Ayer Rajah Avenue, Singapore 138676
For businesses and organizations with serious CSR intent, whether already realized or in the planning, this workshop will search for insights into the opportunities available and leverage on the experience of others. It will also address the complex issues that go towards building such results with organizational commitment.
For NGOs with current projects and many challenging and worthwhile ideas, this workshop will share experience, develop new ideas, offer replicable opportunities and identify the routes to sustainability and support.
For business students with motivation and desire, the workshop will offer immediate exposure to current practice and future opportunities, identify scope for contribution and commitment and open up others to your passions and innovations.
For maximum and long term impact in Asian and other developing countries, sustainable, replicable and scalable projects require the coordinated work of all three groups (NGOs, organizations and business students). The World Bank – INSEAD Open Space Initiative is a major step in this direction.
We hope you will be able to join us for this interesting, challenging and worthwhile programme. Please visit our website at http://www.insead.edu.sg/worldbankopenspace/index.cfm for more information.
There is no fee charged for this event, but registration should reach us by Monday, 27th October 2008.
