Country Partnership Strategy Newly-launched Website The World Bank has recently launched the development of its new Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) outlining engagement for the next five years. We are very excited to be developing this strategy during such a crucial and interesting period of transition for Vietnam. World Bank in Vietnam Statement on Email Scam Hanoi, May 24, 2011 – The World Bank has been made aware of an email scam that claims to offer people cash prizes in exchange for payment of income taxes. The World Bank has absolutely no involvement in this effort to scam people and it has alerted law enforcement and security authorities.    World Bank Supports Policy Reform to Improve Efficiency of Vietnam’s Public Investment Washington, DC May 24, 2011 – Improving the efficiency of public investment by strengthening the four stages of investment cycle – project selection, project implementation, financial management and oversight – is the focus of a US$ 350 million operation from the World Bank to Vietnam. Read more  WB supports infrastructure development and pro-poor growth, aiding Vietnam’s efforts to tackle long term development challenges Hanoi, May 31, 2011 – The The State Bank of Vietnam and the World Bank today signed one loan and four credits totaling US$620 million in support of Vietnam’s development efforts. The money will be used to finance five operations, namely Hospital Waste Management Support Project (US$ 150 million), Hai Phong Urban Transport Project (US$ 175 million), the third operation for Program 135 – 2 (US$ 50 million), additional financing for the Second Transmission and Distribution Project (US$ 180 million) and additional financing for Coastal Cities Environmental Sanitation Project (US$ 65 million). Read more  Securing the Future through the Formalization of Land Use Rights Khanh Hoa, May 2011 – Vietnam Land Administration Project has devoted considerable attention to raising public awareness about land use rights and enhancing community participation in the land certification process.
