Donna Dowsett-Coirolo joined the World Bank as a Young Professional in 1970 after which she took up an assignment as Country Economist for Central America. Her broad experience in the Bank includes assignments as Deputy Division Chief for Education for Latin America (1976), Head of the World Bank Office in Recife, Brazil (1978), Division Chief for Agriculture and Rural Development in East Asia (1987), Division Chief for Country Operations for the Southern Cone of Latin America (1992), and Division Chief for Country Operations for Mexico, Central America, Venezuela and Hispaniola (1994). In addition to her responsibilities as Country Director for Central America, Mrs. Dowsett-Coirolo was a Chairperson of the World Bank's Appeals Committee, and represented the Latin America Region in the World Bank's Post-Conflict Committee. On September 1, 2002, Mrs. Dowsett-Coirolo assumed her new responsibilities as Country Director for the South Caucasus Country Unit, Europe and Central Asia Region.
