Andrew Vorkink joined the World Bank in 1977. He has worked for more than eight years on countries in ECA, including Bulgaria and Romania, first as Chief Counsel, and then as Assistant General Counsel, Legal Reform and Advisory Services. Before being appointed Country Director for Bulgaria and Romania in 1998, he led economic and legal missions to countries in ECA and managed the Bank’s largest loan for legal and judicial reform. Mr. Vorkink co-chairs Bank groups on anti-corruption and the Black Sea. In July 2000, he also became Country Director for Croatia. In October 2001, Mr. Vorkink relocated to Zagreb, Croatia to work from the South Central Europe Regional Office.
