Mr. Ulrich Zachau is the Country Director for Turkey of the World Bank. He holds degrees in mathematics and economics from the University of Munich and a D.Phil. in economics from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He worked for McKinsey&Co and taught economics at the University of Bonn. Since joining the World Bank in 1988, he has held various staff and management positions, working in Operations in Asia, Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean as well as in Finance, Policy, and Research. He served as the World Bank's Director of Strategy and Operations for Latin America and the Caribbean from 2003 until January 2007, when he moved into his current position
