These consultations will help the Bank to develop and implement the governance and anticorruption strategy in a flexible and coherent way across the project, national, and the international levels.

The World Bank's Board of Executive Directors will play a key role in providing oversight during the implementation and operational phases of the strengthened approach to governance and anticorruption. A progress report will be presented to the Board in early 2007 and to the Development Committee before the Spring Meetings in Washington in April.

GAC photoThe World Bank Office in Tirana has embarked the consultation process in early December, seeking feedback on the new strategy, eliciting ideas, best practices, and lessons learned. Several consultations were organized during December with representatives of the Albanian government, parliament, political parties, civil society, private sector and donor community.

In addition to face-to-face and virtual discussions, the Bank is also inviting your written feedback on a set of questions related to global and country-specific issues. To provide your feedback, please click here .
