Critical thinking is a powerful intellectual value strongly promoted in the education curricula of the developed countries, as well as one of the main skills that debate aims to learn and develop to the young people, and this skill will strongly affect their way learning, thinking and acting. The main purpose of the debate was to learn the youngsters to debate using their judgment on a very important issue such as Energy Efficiency and Environment. Phase 2: TOT for YVG members to be qualified as judges for the formal debates in Karl Popper format. Phase 3: training the debaters for the topic, offering information to deeper analyze the Kyoto protocol and the reasons of some states of the world for singing but not ratifying it, Cap and Trade system, Carbon tax, etc. Phase 4: Tirana Open Debate Tournament. After a day marathon of debates on pros and cons on the topic the pool of judges decided the winners.
