 April 18, 2006 Baku. An agreement was signed between the World Bank Country Office in Azerbaijan and the local NGO Azerbaijan Community Development, Research, Treaining & Resourse Center (CDC) on the administration of the 2006 Small Grants Program.The ceremony, attended by the some twenty media representatives, was held at the World Bank Public Information Center hosted by the State Economic University.
 For the first time the SGP in Azerbaijan is outsourced to the national NGO who will act as a foundation in this case.The total amount of funds to be adminsitered this year is $34 000. One of the reasons for the outsoring of SGP to the domestic NGO is to support  development of domestic philanthropy and possibly community foundations as one of its institutional form. The SGP in Azerbaijan started in 2000. Since then it financed 46 projects from differnet NGOs for the total amount of $ 200, 000.
