The World Bank Country Office represented by Mr. Gregory T. Jedrzejczak, Country Manager of World Bank/Azerbaijan, signed contracts with the winners of the World Bank Small Grants Program (SmGP) 2007 on October 1, 2007 at the International Information Center in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was attended by the local media and civil society representatives.
Mr. Gregory T. Jedrzejczak, Country Manager of World Bank/Azerbaijan and Mr. Rufat Gulmammadov, Head of the Information Society Development Department of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan congratulated the winners and wished them success in their valuable work.
SmGP 2007 aiming, as usual, at civic engagement is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies and supported projects promoting development of information society. The Program totalling $49,000 of which $15,000 is the Ministry of Communications' contribution was administered by the Azerbaijan Community Development Research, Training and Resource Center.
