Cambodian Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance delivers lecture for Azerbaijani students

On February 13, 2008 the World Bank's Public Information Center (PIC) in Baku hosted a lecture by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Royal Government of Cambodia, Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, for the students of the Azerbaijan State Economic University.

The lecture focused on Cambodia’s recent economic development, including Cambodia’s achievements in banking, insurance, tourism and other sectors of the country.

During the questions and answers session of this event Dr. Naron and the students discussed and compared trends of economic growth in Cambodia and Azerbaijan.

After that Dr. Naron met with representatives of the civil society of Azerbaijan.

Dr. Hang Chuon Naron was heading the Cambodian delegation visiting Baku on February 10-13, 2008. The main purpose of this visit was to get familiarized with the Azerbaijan's experience in Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) which is considered as a successful model.
